Crunchyroll to Bring ‘One Piece Film: Red’ to the Screens in November
One Piece Film: Red came out a while back in August, but its hype is just getting started.
Besides the fact it features Shanks’ daughter Uta as the protagonist, the film also happens to be an action-filled musical. It is quite rare for such a theme to exist within a popular shonen franchise.
After a positive response from the Japanese premiere, the movie has become loaded with great expectations from the global audience. However, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer.
Crunchyroll has revealed that it will be screening One Piece Film: Red in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in November. It will screen the movie in both English-subtitled and English-dubbed versions.
The company has revealed an English-subtitled trailer with the announcement and the release dates for different regions:
Country | Release Date | Pre-booking for Tickets |
United States | November 4 | October 6 |
Canada | November 4 | October 6 |
Australia | November 3 | October 5 |
New Zealand | November 3 | October 5 |
Returning to the trailer, it shows us Uta and her voice capable of enchanting the strongest of all. She gets a massive surprise at her live concert debut when Luffy comes to meet her and reveals that she’s Shanks’ daughter.
Now let’s put the questions regarding its legitimacy on hold for a while and consider how hazardous this information can be. Shanks is a well-known entity with a huge bounty on his head, so dangerous criminals and even the World Government will go after Uta.
Not just that, Luffy himself is quite famous, and revealing his relation to Uta might put more lives in danger than he can imagine. So, I don’t think it was very wise of him to declare something like that on stage.
‘One Piece Film: Red’ Crosses 65 Million USD in Earnings
If you’re someone who can’t wait till November, then I suggest you book your passes for Crunchyroll Expo Australia. The expo will be hosting the movie’s subtitled premiere on September 16.
Similarly, the North American advance premiere will be held in New York on October 6, also the opening day of New York Comic Con.
