It is the story of a powerful demon who was tired of being alone. So, he reincarnates as an average Joe, but it turns out the problem was him all along. On a quest to find friends, Ard can best even Komi-san at being awkward.
Shijō Saikyō no Daimaō or The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody anime will be released in April 2022. A new trailer has been revealed, which shows the demon lord’s plight.
The teaser reveals Ard, a commoner, who is actually the reincarnation of the demon lord. In his new life, he finds that magic had weakened in the thousands of years when he was not present.
Even the villainous organizations use subpar magic, so they are easily defeated by Ard. Basically, this anime will give us episode after episode of Ard going “Back in my days…”
“Be My Friend!!!” the opening theme by Ayaka Ohashi has also been previewed in the trailer.
A new visual also shows three of the main characters of the anime. From the left, we have Ireena, Ard, and Ginny.
Even if he’s a demon lord, Ard still needs to go to school. After enrolling in the Magic Academy, he encounters lots of new people. Some of their cast members have been revealed:

Myōjin Katō’s light novel The Greatest Demon Lord is Reborn as a Typical Nobody revolves around an over-powered Demon Lord, Varvatos, reborn as a commoner Ard Meteor. The light novel illustrated by Sao Mizuno started serialization in 2017 and is now under Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint.
Varvatos wanted a peaceful life with friends after suffering loneliness as a Demon Lord. But a simple thing like this proved to be a lot more challenging than imagined.
