While pursuing rat-sized Hantengu in the previous episode, Tanjiro became aware of a new demon presence, and the previous demon vanished. Tanjiro wondered what happened to the other demons, but we saw that Genya had witnessed their merger to form the new, terrifying demon that had suddenly appeared.
The demon talked with Tanjiro while Genya tried to move but couldn’t. Muichiro knew he couldn’t get out of the trap Gyokko had set for him, but Kotetsu saved the day by giving Muichiro some oxygen and then using his powers to free himself.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7: Summary!
Tanjiro was chasing after the little demon and noticing a shift in the environment in the previous episode. Suddenly, the four demons vanished, one by one, and a fifth demon materialized. Before Tanjiro had a chance to process what was happening, the new demon attacked with wooden dragon mouths.
Next, we saw Genya’s perspective, as he witnessed the demon with the shaft eat the other demons one by one, until only the new demon remained. The demon was noticeably more powerful than the others, and he also looked very threatening.
The conversation between Tanjiro and the demon then turned philosophical. Meanwhile, Genya attempted to shift his body in order to gain the upper hand, but he was unable to. Over there, Muichiro was starting to pass out from lack of oxygen.
Gyokko remarked that he looked fine on the inside and proceeded to investigate the object of their vigilance. Muichiro realized he was trapped and conceded defeat, but he recalled what Tanjiro had said to him.
Inside the shack, Gyokko discovered Haganezuka sharpening the sword Tanjrio had given him. Gyokko tried to distract him by attacking him multiple times, but he was able to maintain his focus the entire time, making Gyokko very envious.
Kotestu was outside trying to free Muichiro. Suddenly, a fish demon came out of nowhere and attacked Kotestu. Kotetsu was hurt, but he gave Muichiro some oxygen right away, and then Muichiro was able to free himself.
Demon Slayer: Kimestu no Yaiba Season 3: Storyline
Beginning in chapter 98, after one of the upper moons has been killed, Kibutsuji Muzan, the leader of all demons, calls a meeting of all the upper moons. In the second season, Muzan called on Akaza to gather the upper moons together after a long separation.

He will have to face formidable foes, hone his swordsmanship, and face his own demons as he travels. When the demons attack, can Tanjiro defend humanity and save his sister at the same time? What happens next in this heroic tale of peril and redemption remains to be seen.
