Hell’s Paradise’s 20 Strongest Characters: Jigokuraku

Hell’s Paradise has the most interesting characters in all of anime. There are a lot of assassins and swordsmen who are dangerous and can cut through anything.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a series that doesn’t shy away from characters who are cruel, and in its world, only the toughest survive. So, I made a list of the top 20 most powerful people in the show.

Each of these characters fights in a unique way and has abilities that blow your mind. Some rely on raw strength and brute force, while others try to outsmart their opponents with smart moves and powers of manipulation.

20.. Nurugai

This girl is as quick as a cheetah and as flexible as a cat. She avoided Zhu Jin’s direct attack and impressed him with how fast she was.

Nurugai had the skills to live through a massacre of people on death row even when he was a child. Not only that, but she was one of the few people in a thousand years to survive Kotaku’s hellish trials.

She was on an expedition team before being sentenced to death. Executed criminals like her were enlisted for a mad search for the Elixir of Life on behalf of the shogun.

19.. Fuchi

This guy was really cool. He always thought logically and made good decisions because he had a sharp mind. He couldn’t stand things that didn’t seem scientific, didn’t make sense, or were just plain wrong.

Fuchi was the ninth-ranked Asaemon, which made him a very important member of the Yamada clan. He was a strong candidate to be the next leader.

Instead of trying to kill his enemies, he would wear them down until they told him something important. He was one of the few people in a thousand years to get to Horai after surviving the crazy challenges of the island.

18.Toma..

Aza Toma is the famous thief Aza Chobei’s cool little brother and sidekick. Even though Toma wasn’t an official Asaemon, the shogun made him watch over his Yamada Asaemon.

Toma trained hard with Gantetsusai, and Gabimaru and Yuzuriha taught him some mind-blowing Tao stuff. He killed a bunch of Soshin guys, who Lord Tensen had personally chosen to kill any intruders.

He was able to keep up with the Tensen guys and even hit them hard, which he couldn’t do the first time they fought. Gantetsusai couldn’t understand the Tao lessons that Toma did so well in.

17.. Isuzu

When the shogun grew impatient with the first team’s lack of advancement toward the Elixir of Life, he summoned Isuzu and Kiyomaru to join the expedition. They teamed up with Shugen and Jikka to make up the second group going on the mission.

Isuzu was unranked, but she brought some serious firepower to the table. Shugen vouched for her, and she was hired by the shogun to teach women how to fight.

She defeated a squad of Mnshin, an accomplishment that even Rien deemed exceptional for a human being. She did an excellent job of looking out for Shugen, and she managed to bring the kunoichi Yuzuriha to her knees.

16.. Kiyomaru

He’s the type to challenge authority and go so far as to order a ninja to kill himself as a show of devotion. Furthermore, he is extremely conceited and cannot stand being regarded as inferior.

In fact, he severed a ninja’s mask to prove to Aoki that he was more powerful than anyone else involved in the mission.

Kiyomaru’s skill with a sword is unparalleled. His small stature belies the fact that he is an expert at spinning and rotating attacks. With his lightning reflexes and pinpoint accuracy, he can kill a Mnshin with a single stroke of his sword.

15.. Sagiri

Sagiri emphasizes responsibility and loyalty. She has devoted her life to becoming a samurai and an executioner, but she cannot bring herself to actually kill anyone. She lacks the confidence to swing her blade without hesitation.

Sagiri became the Asaemon’s twelfth rank, solidifying her position as the clan’s next leader. Gabimaru respects her so much because she doesn’t try to suppress her insecurities but rather accepts them as a part of who she is. She is able to triumph over any challenge because of her unwavering acceptance of herself.

14..Shion

Shion thinks it’s important to follow the rules of his time, even when they aren’t fair. If you can show him a good reason, he will break the rules.

Shion used to be an Asaemon with the fourth-highest rank, and the Yamada clan knows that he is one of their strongest members. He made it through the crazy island of Kotaku, which has been a nightmare for more than a thousand years.

13...Yuzuriha

She seems friendly and carefree on the outside, like any other teenage girl. But don’t be fooled, my friends, because behind that facade is a person who only cares about themselves.

Yuzuriha is definitely a skilled kunoichi. She has a long list of crimes that put her on death row, and boy, was she thought to be dangerous! She led an attack on Sagiwa Castle and killed all of its guards. The other criminals didn’t know anything about this thing called “Tao” or “ki,” but she had full control over it. Gabimaru didn’t know about it either.

Tamiya Gantetsusai

He’s always looking for tough opponents who can give him the rush of adrenaline he needs. He has a crazy smile on his face even when he’s about to pass out.

Gantetsusai is a strong swordsman who is famous all over Japan. During the raid in Horai, Gantetsusai showed his worth by killing Tao Fa, a Tensen-level Sennin who was very strong.

Plus, he was very important in beating the Kishikai made up of Ju Fa and Tao Fa. Talk about a force that can’t be ignored!

11.. Mu Dan

He has a chilling demeanor and is a member of Lord Tensen and the ruler of Kotaku. And he doesn’t mince words; he has a frank manner of speaking that will give you the willies.

Mu Dan has the power to direct the Doshi, Monshin, and Soshin as though they were his personal servants due to his position as one of Kotaku’s rulers. Even though Yuzuriha is a tough kunoichi, just being in his presence is enough to strike fear into his heart.

He was so quick that he was able to sneak up on Yuzuriha in the blink of an eye, and he even avoided being spotted by Sagiri and Senta. And he can do it with his bare hands, crushing stones!

10.Ran..

Ran is very loyal, especially to his best friend Rien. He thinks of the Tensens as his family and works hard for them. When he found his sister Mei after a long time, he was so happy that you could almost feel it.

When it comes to fighting, Ran is a real beast. He was better than Yuzuriha and Gabimaru in terms of skills, and he easily blocked their attacks.

Yuzuriha had to do everything she could to stop him, and even then, he pushed her to the very edge of what she could do. Ran wanted blood, and he was almost able to get it.

9.Tao Fa…

Tao Fa seems to never have a bad day because she is always smiling. This is in sharp contrast to her partner, the grumpy and serious Ju Fa.

Tao Fa is so skilled with a sword that he can easily compete with legendary swordsmen like Tamiya Gantetsusai and Yamada Asaemon Fuchi. Things get even crazier when she enters their Kishikai state and merges with Ju Fa.

She lets loose her full might, going to war with Gantetsusai, Fuchi, and even the Aza brothers. As the ruler of Kotaku and a Sennin of the Tensen class, she has complete control over the island and its inhabitants.

8.Ju Fa8

This guy has a serious problem controlling his temper; he explodes at the slightest provocation. And he’s not the type to hold back. He chopped off Zhu Jin’s head as punishment for letting a human win.

When Ju Fa enters the Kishikai state with Tao Fa, he becomes truly powerful. He takes on the Aza brothers, Tamiya Gantetsusai, and the ninth-ranked Yamada swordsman Yamada Asaemon Fuchi with all his might.

Even though he is so angry, Ju Fa still cares about his partner, Tao Fa. Since they were little, he has been looking out for her, and he can’t stand to see her hurt.

7.Shija

He thinks of himself as his master’s pawn and sticks to the mission like glue. He doesn’t care about anything else, not even his ninja friends. Shija didn’t blink an eye when Kiyomaru told Kumokiri to kill himself.

Shija is the real deal when it comes to being a shinobi from Iwagakure. He has been chosen to be Gabimaru the Hollow’s possible successor. Iwagakure knows that he is their strongest shinobi, which is not an easy thing to do.

Shija isn’t a Tao user, but he can hold his own against Rien, who is Lord Tensen’s strongest member. He didn’t even have to work hard to take the Elixir of Life from her. Gabimaru said that Shija might have killed him if he hadn’t been able to heal himself.

6. .Zhu Jin

Zhu Jin is the personification of apathy. This guy’s face always shows that he is so bored he can’t think straight. Because he is lazy, he gets into a lot of trouble.

Zhu Lin is so sloppy when facing strong opponents that he has to use his Kishikai skills to fix his mistakes. Still, he is one of the strongest things in the universe. With his god-like abilities, he can beat anyone who stands in his way.

In fact, if Mei hadn’t stepped in, Zhu Jin would have been in danger of killing Gabimaru. Gabimaru realized how powerful Lord Tensen is after seeing him do something.

5. .Jikka

Compared to the other people in his clan, especially Shugen, this guy is less serious about his work. He has a lot of patience and thinks that if he stays calm, everything will work out.

Jikka is the third-best Asaemon, so he is not a weakling. He is seen as one of the strongest Yamada clan members. He killed a Wadatsumi and got out of Kotaku without getting hurt. He was the first person to do this without getting hurt.

Even the master swordsman Gantetsusai was amazed. He saw Jikka cut through the Zhu Jin-fused Banko with ease and said that he could be a God Slayer.

4. .Aza Chobei

Chobei is a rebel who doesn’t care about anyone but himself. He’d rather beat up the Doshi than work things out in a peaceful way. He quickly learned how to control Tao as soon as he woke it up.

Chobei is as cruel as they come when it comes to fights. He likes it when his opponents hurt and suffer. Still, he is very careful to keep his younger brother Toma safe and will go to great lengths to do so.

Don’t forget his climatic showdown with Ju Fa and Tao Fa, either. Chobei and his brother took on the Kishikai and gave them a run for their money.

3. .Shugen

Shugen is proud to be known as an Asaemon, demonstrating his dedication to his job as an executioner. Shugen’s genuine concern for his fellow soldiers is what sets him apart. He is a forward-thinking individual who recognizes merit regardless of one’s gender.

When it comes to muscular prowess, Shugen is unparalleled. His fellow Asaemon regard him as their mighty leader. Without drawing his sword, he faced off against multiple Sōshin and then a Dōshi.

Shugen and Jikka never saw eye to eye. His lack of dignity irritated Shugen to no end. The Yamada family could not have asked for a more devoted Asaemon, and I am rooting for him to succeed!

2. .Gabimaru

Gabimaru personifies calm and detachment. He has an attitude of “Meh, whatever,” even when facing the death penalty or going up against notorious criminals.

When it comes to ninjas, Gabimaru is in a league of his own. Even as a youngster, he displayed natural talent and was able to persevere through the rigorous Iwagakure training he endured. Everyone in the ninja world respects and trembles before “Gabimaru the Hollow,” as he is known for being the strongest of his kind.

With his hands bound, he managed to escape a massacre of condemned inmates. He fought off 54 assassins from Iwagakure, and only Shija managed to hurt him.

1.. Rien

Rien wants to bring her dead husband Jofuku back to life so badly that she is willing to do anything, even if it means losing her humanity. She has been waiting for centuries and has been through a lot of failures with the Banko in order to reach her goal.

Rein is the strongest person in Hell’s Paradise, and no other mortal can beat him. Rien’s skills as a Tensen are so out of this world that they make the other Sennin look like beginners. She can turn superhumans like Chobei into puddles with a flick of her finger.

Jikka came to the conclusion that he and his crew could not beat Rien, even if they fought her 10,000 times. Going up against her is like going up against a boss you can’t beat.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a manga series by Yuji Kaku that ran from January 2018 to January 2021. It was published in parts on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website and app, and the 13 parts have now been put together into one book.

Gabimaru: The Empty is a ninja who is on death row for killing people. Because he is a shinobi, he doesn’t feel anything and can’t be killed. But when he faces Asaemon Sagiri, he finds the will to live and go back to his wife.

He is told to go to a legendary island and find the elixir of life. Anyone who is sent to the island dies there. Will Gabimaru find the elixir and make it out of the cave?
