We are yet to know who or what actually caused the mass petrification, and the series is slowly inching towards the answer.

Season 3 of Dr. Stone titled Dr. Stone: New World has just been confirmed. The new season will be released in spring 2023, and Crunchyroll will stream it worldwide, as usual.

The announcement was made with a small clip but nothing even close to a trailer is out yet.

Crunchyroll is currently streaming Dr. Stone: Ryusui Special episode, where the genius businessman Ryusui has been introduced. This is all in preparation for the Exploration Arc that will be covered in season 3.

Now that the Kingdom of Science has been established, it’s time to find out how the petrification occurred in the first place. To do that, Senku has to put together clues from the whole world as well as gather resources.

With the help of Ryusui, Senku and co. will build a ship, Perseus, and use it to sail the seven seas. Their first destination? The land of corn, America.

Building a ship is no easy feat, but I’m sure that Ryusui and Senku’s exploitative nature will get their allies working their butt off in no time. So, let’s sit back and see how long it takes for them to reach their goals.

About Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone is a Japanese manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi. It serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since 6th March 2017, with the individual chapters collected and published by Shueisha into thirteen tankōbon volumes as of November 2019.

Every human on the planet was turned into Stone after a mysterious flash of light hit Earth. Four thousand years after Senku, a student is confronted with a brand new world, an Earth without Humanity.

Now animals rule the world, and nature has reclaimed the planet. Senku and his friend Taiju begin trying to find a way to restore humanity.
