Ellen’s Next Great Designer Gets New Host
A host and lead judge to head HBO Max’s brand-new show, Ellen’s Next Great Designer, has been selected. Whiskey Cavalier and Scandal alum Scott Foley, who revealed his love for building in The Ellen DeGeneres Show, will be co-hosting the show along with Ellen. He will also be serving as the primary judge in season one of the upcoming show that centers on furniture building.
Ellen, a designing enthusiast herself, is bringing forward some of the country’s best budding builders in the series. Every episode, a new challenge will be presented to eight participants to test their levels of creativity.
Ellen and Foley will judge the results and provide their inputs on the participations’ creations and a winner will be decided based on their evaluations.
Apart from Foley, two other judges are supposed to be part of the show. Their names have not been announced yet.
Ellen’s Next Great Designer, which was previously called Ellen’s Home Design Challenge, is a part of a slew of original shows that HBO Max has ordered because of its partnership with the Emmy awardee talk show host and actress.
Out of the other original shows, one, called Little Ellen, will be an animated series that will revolve around a seven-year-old Ellen and her musical adventures in her hometown New Orleans. Another, called First Dates Hotel, will follow the format of a dating show.
A premiere date for Ellen’s Next Great Designer has not been announced yet.
