Funimation Reveals MHA Film Villain’s Dub VA while Streaming Episode 16
My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission is by far the most anticipated film of 2021. Fans are keeping a check on every update like hawks (pun intended). So obviously, this new easter egg couldn’t slip past their eyes either.
Funimation has been streaming the English dub version of MHA’s ongoing season 5 regularly and recently released the dubbed episode 16. This particular episode is special as it sets up the plot for the film premiering on August 6th, 2021.
Although the entire episode was focused on Ochako, Asui, and Nejire, the post-credit scene left us all bewildered. It teased the main antagonist of the film, Flect Turn.
Now since episode 16 was in dub, Funimation unknowingly (or intentionally) revealed Flect Turn’s English dub voice actor, Robbie Daymond.
If you think that he sounds oddly familiar, then you’re absolutely right. Daymond has voiced the infamous Toneri Otsutsuki in Naruto and Boruto. He is also the dubbed voice of Megumi Fushiguro in Jujutsu Kaisen.
It’s surprising how well his voice fits Flect’s character. Although dub watchers are shamed in the anime world, I won’t mind watching dub for this one, at least.
In my opinion, Flect Turn seems more of a Thanos-type antagonist rather than an ‘I-just-want-to-rule-over-humanity’ type antagonist. The trailers have shown that he is meticulous in his approach and has his logical reasons.
Although I will agree that the cult thing is creepy but super intriguing at the same time.
My Hero Academia World Heroes Mission Teases Final Showdown in The Trailer
The film is still shrouded in mystery. There is so much yet to unpack, like villain Deku, new characters, quirk doomsday theory, and so much more!
I wonder how all of this will fit into one film, and more importantly, how all of it will come together.
With all of this build-up, I can hardly wait for the film to be released now.
