Gyoko No Nikuko-Chan Entices Many with Touching Music Video And Poster!

Gazing upon the stunning visuals and videos from the new anime film Gyoko no Nikuko-chan strengthens my belief that anime can make anything beautiful.

Nikuko-chan and her daughter Kikuko’s life in a fishing boat by a small town somehow seems even more calming and magical than being at the top of the world. Written by Kanako Nishi, the visual novel is about to get its film adaptation this June.

With the release date just around the corner, fresh news keeps popping up about the movie.

Recently, Gyokou no Nikuko-chan’s official websitejust began streaming the ending theme song “Taketen” by hip hop group GReeeeN. The movie is set to release in theaters on 11th June.

The video starts with Kikuko and her friend Ninomiya staring with wide-open eyes at something descript, and the next thing we know, they are opening a red box with blinding lights radiating out of it.

The music video quickly moves on to Kikuko‘s day-to-day life as she heads off to school. All the while, we get gorgeous glimpses of life in the small town by the sea. The short video wraps up by giving us a hill-eye view of the town and various people living in it.

They also released a new poster for the movie and announced the tie-in with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT).

The tie-in with the ministry aims to understand and widely disseminate measures related to cooperation and collaboration between schools, homes, and communities.

The story weaves the tale of a mother and daughter duo as they navigate through life and more. While Kikuko is a daydreamer who spins a tale about everyone she meets, Nikuko is a mother who loves to eat more than she likes to cook.

With such an eccentric duo taking the lead, I am sure you won’t be disappointed after watching it!
