Is Rowan Atkinson Seeing Out Mr. Bean With A Last Animated Film?
Rowan Atkinson has appropriately described Mr Bean as “a child in a man’s body.”
The British sitcom about an uncommon gentleman is in the talks of getting an animated film soon!
I grew up watching Mr Bean, and it is one of those rare shows that I could watch with my parents. That was the magic of the character conceived by Rowan Atkinson.
Thus knowing that the series is getting an animated film gave me a pleasant surprise.
Rowan Atkinson, best known for his role as Mr Bean, will be returning with an animated film for the series. He stated that the film is currently in its developmental stage.
The reason why the film is animated and not live-action lies with Atkinson, who no longer feels comfortable playing the character in live-action.
“It’s easier for me to perform the character vocally than visually. I don’t much enjoy playing him. The weight of responsibility is not pleasant.”

The pressure of responsibility for playing a character is much less when it is an animated film. Atkinson also mentioned that he wants to be done playing Mr Bean and wants to look forward to other characters.
Live-action films are facing delays due to the pandemic; thus, an animated film’s decision will profit not only Atkinson but also the staff.
However, the question still remains, will this be the last time Rowan Atkinson plays Mr Bean? Based on his comments, it is clear that he wants to move on from the series.
A character can be salvaged if another actor takes the place; however, will Mr Bean still be alive without Rowan Atkinson?
