That’s why it’s extremely concerning to hear the tragic news of Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen. Recently, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen will be going into hiatus.
The reasons for this hiatus are due to the Jujutsu Kaisen Mangaka Gege Akutami suffering from poor physical health. However, he claimed that he’s not in serious condition and his mental health is not in jeopardy. Thus, he’ll be away for probably a month, which is good news for both fans and Akutami.

The hiatus will begin from Shonen Jump’s 29th issue beginning from June 21. However, a new manga chapter will premiere on June 14 because the author had enough time and good health till then.

Shonen Jump will announce the return of Jujutsu Kaisen when the Jujutsu Kaisen Mangaka Akutami recovers. Hopefully, the fans of Jujutsu Kaisen will understand and wait patiently.
This constant trend of manga creators going into hiatus due to poor health has become all too common. The realization of this fact puts our anger and impatience of having to wait for one more chapter or episode of our favorite show in perspective. For the time being, we’ll just have to wait and pray that his health gets better soon.
