Lupin the Third Part 6 Reveals New Trailer as Jigen Receives New VA

Lupin the Third Part 6 is coming back with a brand new heist story where Lupin will now face off against the unbeatable Sherlock Holmes. 

As much as the 50th anniversary of the series is bringing various surprises to fans, it has also brought an inevitable parting.

Kiyoshi Kobayashi, the veteran voice actor behind Daisuke Jigen in Lupin the Third anime, will be passing on his mantle to Akio Ohtsuka. Akio Ohtsuka is the voice actor of All For One from My Hero Academia. 

Lupin the Third Part 6’s episode 0, titled “Jidai,” will premiere on October 6, 2021, and it will be the last episode featuring Kobayashi’s voice.

Kobayashi was the only original first-generation actor who has continued voicing the anime, but it looks like it is time to bid him goodbye.

Before you start getting morose, let me just say that a brand new trailer has also been released for the upcoming anime.

Multiple glimpses at the upcoming plot have been provided and all the main characters deliver their own one-liners. The trailer is entirely spoiler-free, but some new characters have been shown in it.

The most-awaited character, Holmes, is also teased in the trailer. Although in this story, he has retired from his job and lives his life while investigating cheating and finding pets. His encounter with Lupin might bring out his real passion to the surface.

The previous trailer of the anime was full of suspense, but this one is simply dashing as Lupin prepares to visit Britain and bring down a whole mysterious organization.

Lupin and Holmes’ encounter will serve as the cream of the crop, as this classic anime returns for another amazing heist.

Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of the fictional gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin, is considered the world’s greatest thief, known for announcing his intentions to steal valuable objects by sending a calling card to their owners.

His right-hand man and closest ally is Daisuke Jigen, an expert marksman who can accurately shoot a target in 0.3 seconds. Although Lupin and Jigen frequently work as a two-man team. They are often joined by Goemon Ishikawa XIII, a master swordsman whose sword can cut anything.

Or Fujiko Mine, a femme fatale and Lupin’s love interest. Although Fujiko usually works together with the others, she occasionally exploits Lupin’s interest in her to steal the treasure for herself. Lupin and his gang are always chased by Inspector Koichi Zenigata of Interpol.
