‘Modern Love Tokyo’ Series to Include Anime Episode by Naoko Yamada
Amazon Prime’s Modern Love has earned quite the name for itself within the cinephile community and aims to do the same in the anime genre.
As soon as the American show’s popularity skyrocketed, the franchise started to churn out a version for everyone. They gave us Mumbai and Hyderabad in 2022, with Tokyo and Amsterdam coming out later this year.
While all the global versions of the show are equally impressive, Modern Love Tokyo stands out for having an anime episode in it. Its latest trailer previews the episode by Naoko Yamada and the theme song ‘Setting Sail ~Modern Love Tokyo~’ by Awesome City Club.
The reason Modern Love became such a well-known name is because of the authenticity its international versions have. Since Japan is renowned for anime, the show decided to have that to make it more relatable and attract the otaku community.
Moreover, let’s not forget how Naoko is famous for her works like A Silent Voice, K-ON!, and the Heike Story. Naoko has once again come up with a cute and wholesome high school story which I’m really excited to watch.
The episode is titled ‘Kare ga Kanaderu Futari no Shirabe’ (He Plays Their Very Own Melody) and features two high school students as protagonists.
Haru Kuroki and Masataka Kubota have been casted to voice the characters. Masataka Kubota has voiced Poupelle in Poupelle of Chimney Town Haru Kuroki has been credited for Yuki’s role in Wolf Children.
If you look at the trailer closely, you’ll notice that the animation, themes, and characters for the episode are very similar to Naoko’s previous works. This style is unique to Naoko and has an air of warmth and comfort to it.
