New Trailer of ‘Tatami Time Machine Blues’ Reveals the Film’s Absurdity
Distress stuck again in the lives of The Tatami Galaxy protagonists when their troublemaker friend Ozu spilled a drink on the AC remote. In such conditions, that too on a scorching summer day, hope arrives in the form of a time traveler.
The Tatami Galaxy is known for its bizarre scenarios that we’ve come to love and enjoy. Naturally, as soon as the franchise announced a sequel, we were beyond thrilled to know what else they could throw at us.
So far, the teasers for the Tatami Time Machine Blues compilation anime film haven’t let us down regarding absurdity, including the latest one.
The video also previews the theme song “Demachiyanagi Parallel Universe” by the musical unit Asian Kung-Fu Generation.
The teaser starts with the scene that started it all, Ozu spilling a drink on the AC remote. This escalated to a massive fight between the protagonist and Ozu, followed by the student’s arrival from 25 years in the future.
You’d think that the protagonist and his friends could use time travel in so many ways that could change their lives, but no. Annoyed by the heat and Ozu’s shenanigans, the MC decides to go back in time and save the AC remote.
It may sound stupid, but once you experience the midsummer heat, you might start to understand the protagonist’s feelings.
Moreover, the franchise has also revealed that they’ll be hosting an early preview for the film on August 12, 2022, in theaters at Shinjuku Wald 9.The preview will take place before the film’s September 30 release and the anime series’ Disney+ debut on September 14.
Prepare to Tolerate Ozu’s Lunacy in New ‘Tatami Time Machine Blues’ Anime
In addition to this, an original sixth episode for the anime series will come out on October 12. The story will be released exclusively on Disney+ with scenes that are not from the novel.
