Both anime and Marvel fans got a huge surprise when the company announced their newest addition to Bright: Samurai Soul anime film.

The upcoming anime film is a remake of Will Smith’s live-action Bright that came out in 2017. To keep up the practice of having a phenomenal cast in the franchise, Netflix got someone from Marvel’s Shang-Chi to join the team.

Netflix revealed that Shang-Chi’s Simu Liu is cast as the protagonist Izou for Bright: Samurai Soul’s English dub that will premiere on October 12, 2021.

The protagonist Izou is a one-eyed ronin who has lost all his will to live until he stumbles upon an elf-girl Sonya and a peace-loving orc Raiden.

Sonya holds a powerful wand that is sought by some evil and malicious organization. So the trio embarks on a journey to safely bring Sony and the wand back to the elves.

Simu Liu cast as the dub for Izou couldn’t get any better. Liu, who has played Shang-Chi, is a lot similar to Izou’s character.

In the MCU film, the superhero has been running away from his traumatic past and has no intention of returning to it.

Meanwhile, Izou has given up on his job as a ronin and is leading an aimless life. Both Shang-Chi and Izou don’t have anything to look forward to or get motivated for.
