‘Suzume no Tojimari’ Film Dethrones ‘One Piece Film: Red’ from #1
Makoto Shinkai movies are the reason for the anime industry’s recent global popularity. After films like ‘Your Name’ and ‘Weathering With You,’ it’s only natural that his latest ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ breaks records at the box office.
The film is based on Shinkai’s usual fantasy elements related to natural disasters and a girl who is the source and the solution. For this one, Suzume is the girl who opens the door to catastrophe and now has to travel across Japan to prevent calamities.
‘Suzume no Tojimari’ debuted at the Japanese box office on November 11 and snatched the #1 spot from ‘One Piece Film: Red’ during the opening weekend.

Shinkai’s work is famous for its breathtaking scenery, complex characters, and some soul-touching music. As if those three factors weren’t enough, the filmmaker is a great writer and gives us a story that shakes us from the inside.
Even if you don’t like Shinkai’s films, there’s no way you feel the same about the music too. There’s not one otaku who doesn’t have ‘Nandemonaiya’ on their playlists, and RADWIMPS is why.
The rock band has also revealed that the ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ film’s soundtrack is now available for streaming on Spotify, iTunes, and more.
