Netflix released the main English-subtitled trailer for the T.P Bon anime adaptation of Time Patrol Bon by Fujiko F. Fujio, the author behind the worldwide favorite anime Doraemon on April 16, 2024. The trailer shows the plot line and provides a preview of theme songs for the anime.
The anime’s season 1 will debut on Netflix on May 2, 2024, and season 2 is set to release not too long after on July 17, 2024.
Aside from the plot and theme song previews, the names of the artists and the titles of the songs are not released to the public yet.
The T.P. Bon anime, based on Fujiko F. Fujio’s manga series, follows the story of a regular high school student named Namihara Bon. One day, he encounters a mysterious girl named Ream Steam who introduces him to the Time Patrol organization.
Ream invites Bon to join as an agent and explains their mission: to save lives. The story revolves around Bon and his team traveling through time to rescue people in various historical periods.
T.P Bon’s main trailer shows time traveling through eras
The trailer for the anime adaptation of Time Patrol Bon is nothing less exciting. The video highlights the main character Bon Namihira and a time patrol member Ream Stream, traveling through times of World War II, The Bronze Age, The Middle Ages, and beyond.
Fujiko F. Fujio, the author of Doraemon and Time Patrol Bon, serialized the first part of the manga in 1978-1979 in Ushio Publishing’s Monthly Shonen World magazine, and the second part followed in 1980-1983 in the same magazine, and the third part in 1984-1986.
The director of the anime is Masahiro Ando, famous for his works as a director for Hanasaku Iroha – Blossoms for Tomorrow, and Sword of the Stranger. The anime’s production is said to be under BONES, and Michiru Oshima, known for the Little Witch Academia, is taking the position of the music composer of the anime.
Netflix has stated that the anime comes under the category of science-fiction adventure.
Cast revealed
Along with the trailer, the main cast, and staff behind the anime adaptation of Time Patrol Bon are also revealed.
Akihisa Wakayama, best known for voicing Ryuji Kanzai in The Classroom of the Elite is now starring as the main character, Bon Namihira. Atsumi Tanezaki, stars as Ream Stream, a time patrol member who will be beside Bon in the series.
