Ash Ketchum Finally Becomes Pokemon Master After 25 Years

Ash Ketchum, the forever 10-year-old boy from Pallet Town, started his journey to becoming a Pokemon Master with an iron will and an uncooperative Pikachu.

The two go on to become an undefeatable team that defeats Leon and snatches away the title of the monarch in the World Coronation Series.

Yes, that’s right. Ash Ketchum (Satoshi) finally becomes a Pokemon Master or the new World Champion in episode 132 of ‘Pokemon Journeys: The Series’ anime.

Ash defeated the current monarch Leon, and many other tough opponents like Sinnoh’s Cynthia and Hoenn’s Steven to achieve his dream. While this feels unreal, Ash’s dream coming true pops up the most important question: Is Pokemon anime over?

Pokemon anime will not end after this, but there’s a good chance that Ash won’t be a regular in them. After ‘Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series’ ends, we might not get to see Ash as the main character anymore.

Now that this guy has achieved his dream, the franchise might start focusing more on other characters and churning out more spin-offs. We can get side stories related to all the champions who made it to the Masters Eight in the World Coronation Series, which sounds pretty exciting.

However, Ash always says that his dream is bigger than becoming just the best Pokemon trainer of all time. He is now a master, a world champion, but his desires don’t end here, so it doesn’t seem like he’ll leave us anytime soon.

Another pressing question that arises is: Will Ash remain 10-year-old in the coming installments? Or will he grow up?

The answer to this one is quite tricky. Generally, in anime, we only get to see characters grow up when there’s a time-skip or a change of protagonist. Given how Pokemon has shown us Ash achieving his ultimate dream, it’s possible that he’ll grow up and go on a new adventure.

Ash might open up a gym, dedicate himself to research, or even retire from competing. However, given Ash’s burning fire of ambition, the boy might as well set on a new quest soon.

Moreover, the episode hits us with a strong wave of nostalgia as it features the main characters from all the previous series. That means we get to see Brock, Misty, Dawn, May, Max, and more.

So if Ash winning wasn’t enough to make you emotional, then this will have you floating in a puddle of tears.

So, congratulations Ash Ketchum and Pikachu; you guys have no idea how emotional you’ve made people with the recent episode.

About Pokémon

Pokémon was first released in 1996 and is set up in a world where humans catch monsters and store them in pocket-sized poke-balls.
