A new episode also means new illustrations and original artworks from the franchise. This week we received quite a few of them, which reveals a lot about the new look of the characters who will play critical roles in the episodes to come.

Just like the previous episodes, the Attack on Titan franchise thanked all the fans with a new character illustration and this time of our favorite Captain Levi.

Thank you to everyone who has watched Attack On Titan: The Final Season Episode 9 (Episode 68) “Brave Volunteers”! Stay tuned for next week’s broadcast! Illustration by Wang Wei (animation director)

In the visual, Levi looks nothing similar to that one time when he smiled after Historia punched him, if anything he seems more irritated than usual.

And why won’t he be? His decisions to save Eren have costed the lives of his comrades over and over again. The background looks like a cell; maybe he is sitting there to interrogate Falco and Gabi, who are kept in custody.

MAPPA has also released a production art featuring Yelena enjoying a cup of Paradisian tea while she negotiates with the Survey Corps.

Thank you for watching Episode 68, “Brave Volunteers”! The original picture of Yelena, a follower of Zeke Jaeger and an Anti-Marley volunteer who is dying for the purpose of liberating the Eldians, is released. Next time, Episode 69, “Theory.” Please look forward to it!!

Coming to the most exciting part, the franchise has also revealed the character design for the newest look of Eren that we will see in the second half of the final season.

This new version of Eren looks callous, cold, and confident; fitting someone who will do anything to gain more power. His violent attack on Marley and using Survey Corps to accomplish his goal proves that he has changed much in these four years.

Sasha’s death might have taken his obsession for power to a whole new level, as he declared in the latest episode that they are now in a situation where it’s just “Fight or Die.”

Even Armin, his best friend, admits that he no longer understands him. Sure, his main goal is to attain freedom for Eldians, but his methods are too cruel and he isn’t even considering a peaceful way out.

It’s only getting started from here, and we are gradually heading towards a second war between Marley and Paradis.

The previous attack on the declaration ceremony has undoubtedly turned the world against them, and I think Eren’s reckless actions may play the role of ‘Necessary Evil’ in this battle.

Thanks to all these illustrations, we get a rough idea about what is coming next.
