However, with his gritty personality, it is hard to say that he is actually gone.

Zeke, on the other hand, had barely survived, only to be picked up by a titan and getting planted inside its stomach. It was a very bizarre yet curious development that will lead to a major turning point in the series’ second cour.

Episode 17 of the anime will premiere in Winter 2022, along with a whole new cour.

1. A Second Marley

Yelena finally comes clean with the euthanization plan of Zeke. However, she only does so when it is confirmed that all Paradisian officers will listen to her. Almost every official has ingested Zeke’s spinal fluid, and one scream from Zeke will turn them into titans.

A peculiar move of the Jaegerists has been noticed. They have divided the Paradis officials into three distinct groups with the help of bands on their arms.

Attack on Titan Episode 73, 74: Can Only Euthanizing Bring Liberation to Eldians?

The original Jaegerists, or those who have supported Eren with no qualms since the beginning, wear white cloth on their arm. Those who had to submit after drinking Zeke’s spinal cord fluid wear red.

Last but not least, those who have still not yielded are wearing black pieces of bandanas on their arms.

This practice seems very familiar as it is precisely what Marley does to separate Eldians from Marleyans. Eldians wear armbands in Marley and it is looked upon as a tag that marks lowly humans. They are discriminated against and treated inhumanely.

Thus arises the question, will this new regime really solve everything when it comes to power?

2. Eren’s Dazed State

Eren calls Gabi the “kid who killed Sasha.” He knows Gabi by her deed and not by her name. Mentioning Sasha’s death so casually makes it look like Eren hasn’t even registered her passing away yet.

He uses Falco to bargain with Gabi. Falco has ingested Zeke’s spinal fluid too, and he will not be harmed only if Gabi and Pieck cooperate with him. He is gambling with the life of the child who helped him in Marley. However, his words can be completely false as well.

When Pieck points the gun at him, Eren knows that she won’t shoot. She has been ordered to retrieve the Founding Titan, her only chance is to eat him alive, but that is a distant shot.

Eren is slowly playing into more and more dangerous waters. His eyes don’t show feelings anymore, not even fear.

3. The Cliffhanger

It seemed very suspicious when Pieck submitted to Eren so quickly, especially after she went to the pains of secretly infiltrating Paradis. She leads Eren to the rooftop under the pretext that she will point out her allies.

However, as soon as they reach the rooftop, the Jaw Titan bursts out from below, and Eren narrowly escapes being eaten alive.

He instantly transforms into the Attack Titan to face the Marleyan troops who are entering by airborne battleships. Eren murmurs, “Come at me, Reiner.

An epic Armoured Titan Vs. Attack/Founding Titan battle awaits us in the 17th episode of the final season. What happened to Zeke?

How will Eren face this surprise attack? There must be tons of questions swarming in your head by now. However, they will be answered only in Winter 2022.
