Studio WIT had been handling the animation for the series, but it was suddenly handed over to MAPPA.

The shift in the studio has generated a lot of speculations and piqued the curiosity of fans.

In a recent interview with Newtype, Kensuke Tateishi, Toshihiro Maeda, and Tetsuya Kinoshita have cleared up the mystery behind the change.

Tateishi, the producer of Attack on Titan Season 4, explained that the creators wanted to escalate the anime. In the last episode of season 3, Eren is shown gazing at the ocean, which marks a new beginning.

The changes that the creators wanted in the anime were difficult for WIT to perform.

Maeda further simplifies that a lot of studios turned down the offer since the task was too huge. Others declined due to tight schedules.

Fans can now relax as it is confirmed that the final season will adapt the whole manga. Since it is a series that has received a lot of fan support, it will not leave the story midway.

The Attack on Titan manga will either conclude before the anime’s release, or they will be released simultaneously. Either way, we won’t be left wondering for a better ending.

Attack on Titan has been broadcasted on MBS ever since the series first started. However, the last season will air on NHK. This is because the producers wanted the anime to reach a broader audience in Japan.

Although MBS was free to stop investing in the anime, it continued to do so. The creators of AOT are thankful to both NHK and MBS.
