The franchise came up with the seven-episode series to retell the Mugen Train incident in detail because the movie just wasn’t enough for us.

I’m pretty sure we’ve all seen the movie till now and know how vital the arc is in the story as Rengoku is a character that holds a lot of significance.

The first episode of the second season was about the events that led the Flame Hashira to board the Mugen Train.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc episode 2 begins the main storyline of the arc when Tanjiro and his friends encounter Rengoku on the train.

The episode is titled ‘Deep Sleep’ in which Enmu’s plan to trap the Demon Slayers in a dream to destroy their spiritual core is commenced. The entire scene is heart-wrenching and emotional as we see Tanjiro reunited with his deceased family.

Though it was a beautiful dream, Tanjiro comes to realize that it is a lie and tries to figure out a way to break the spell.

While Tanjiro’s and Rengoku’s dreams were sentimental, Zenitsu’s and Isosuke’s were hilarious and absurd that provided us with the perfect comic relief.

Episode 2 teased Tanjiro’s dream world while the insomniac kids Enmu had carried out the demon’s plans. The third episode will introduce others’ dream worlds in detail too.

We also got to see Rengoku’s superior swordsmanship as he battled two other demons on the train. Tanjiro and the others are awestruck by his skills and become the Flame Hashira’s apprentices.

The next episode will also show us our favorite demon girl Nezuko comes out of her box to save her brother. We all know how that scene goes, and I cannot wait to watch it again.

Since these episodes are a detailed retelling of the Mugen Train film, I am excited to know what happened when everyone was asleep. I am sure they will give us more insight into Rengoku’s heart, but what will it be?

I can’t wait to find out!
