The dark fantasy anime became immensely popular all over the world in no time. The popularity of the movie even attracted non-anime watchers who ended up binging the whole series.

And we all know how groundbreaking the movie was when it finally came out.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba The Movie: Mugen Train hit the top spot in the highest-earning films of 2020 globally. 

It has become the first-ever non-Hollywood, non-American animated film to achieve this feat.

It is a massive achievement for the Asian entertainment industry and the anime community worldwide.

Ever since Mugen Train hit the theatres, it has been breaking records after records, and now it has done it again!

It first conquered and broke records in Japan when it was released in October 2020. It dethroned Spirited Away and claimed the top spot as the highest-grossing film in Japan. 

Now it has broken the world record to become the first non-American highest-grossing animated film of all time! 

It earned around $474,600,000 (51.5 billion yen) worldwide and grabbed the top spot in the 2020 movies list.

Fans had been overjoyed and weren’t able to hold their excitement when the movie was released in the US, and I can totally relate to that.

The American fans really did wait for a long time for the movie to release.

And they definitely showed us just how much they waited and loved the movie when it started shattering records.

Kimetsu no Yaiba, the movie is something you do not want to miss out on. It has a fantastic plotline, great animation, and sick fight scenes that are totally worth it!

About Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotoge. Its publication in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump began in February 2016 with 19 collected tankōbon volumes released as of present.

In a world filled with demons and demon slayers, Kimetsu no Yaiba follows the lives of two siblings Tanjiro and Nezuko Kamado after— the murder of their family at the hands of a demon. Their hardship does not end there, as Nezuko’s life is spared only for her to live as a demon.

As the oldest sibling, Tanjiro vows to protect and cure his sister. The story traces the bond of this brother-sister or better yet, demon slayer and demon combo against the odds of an arch antagonist and the society.
