It is common for manga and anime to be made into something of the opposite genre for the fans. Parodies of the show like Attack on Titan: Junior High and Naruto’s Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals are very common.

Similar to these, Demon Slayer also got something for the fans.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s gag-comedy spin-off manga called Kimetsu Gakuen! will begin serialization in Saikyou Jump issue 9/2021 on August 4th, 2021.

The original mangaka of Demon Slayer, Koyoharu Gotouge, will be making a commemorative illustration for the Weekly Shonen Jump issue #31.

Natsuki Hokami will be writing and illustrating the upcoming spin-off. Hokami has also worked on the action-fantasy novel Gokutei Higuma.

The spin-off Kimetsu Gakuen! will be based in a school setting with all of the characters as students or teachers there. It makes sense as school-themed comedy spin-offs for popular franchises have been common in the manga and anime world for ages.

It is supposed to be a gag comedy manga. And with Giyuu Tomioka’s silent and distant demeanor, I am sure this one will be hilarious.
