Does Diablo support Rimuru? Is he bad? What drives him?

Many of us wonder how much faith Diablo and Rimuru actually have in one another.

Rimuru has known Diablo for how long? Diablo’s tenure at Rimuru’s company—how long has it been? Does Diablo always put their boss first? When will Diablo finally give up and follow another master?

The master-servant dynamic is elevated to new heights in TenSura Slime. The bond between Diablo and Rimuru is a great illustration of this.

The fact that Diablo is a Demon Primordial compels him to show unwavering devotion to his master. He repeatedly does bad things for his own benefit, giving the impression to viewers and the others around him that he is truly evil.

However, there is more to their connection than meets the eye. Let’s delve inside the psyche of Diablo, the most devoted Arch Demon to the Great Rimuru, today!

Diablo’s devotion to Rimuru is unwavering; even when he acts in a self-serving manner, it is always because he wants to please his master. The Arch Demon’s loyal minion, Diablo, is generally portrayed as having unwavering allegiance to his all-knowing lord.

Diablo supports Rimuru for what reason?

Because of his bravery and integrity, Diablo is committed to Rimuru. Based on what we know about Diablo thus far in the novel, Rimuru represents the zenith of strength and presence for him.

Diablo’s black sclera and gold-red pupils give him a sinister aspect. Since his first appearance in the anime, he has always given off a sinister vibe. His status as the Arch Demon certainly doesn’t help matters.

But Diablo hasn’t taken out anyone in the Slime universe just yet. And if he commits harm, it is only to his enemies at the request of his master, who wants them captured alive.

What we see as “evil” is actually Diablo’s way of showing his lord the best results of his labor.

If he can win Rimuru’s approval by protecting him from criticism or by capturing his adversaries alive, he will do whatever it takes.

For a long time, Diablo has followed his master about due of the Anti-Magic Mask. For example, Shizue Izawa, the former “Champion” of their world, left Chancellor Rimuru the Anti-Magic Mask as a gift.

The clue will provide Diablo a hint as to what he is really after, which is the “Truth of the World.” Diablo’s obsession with Rimuru, his master’s power, influence, relics, and weaponry, is easier to grasp now that fans know this.

Also, Diablo is so worried about disappointing his master that he serves him religiously. Diablo complies with his boss’s every demand, even to the point of servitude, to prevent an unpleasant situation from occurring.

How many of the original demons work for rimuru?

The seven primal demons of TenSura all work for Rimuru. Black (Diablo), white (Testarossa), red (Guy Crimson), green (Mizari), blue (Rhein), yellow (Carrera), and purple (Ultima) are all examples of primordia.

Diablo was formerly known as “Noir” before being renamed “Diablo” by Rimuru. Noir has been given the moniker “Primordial Black” due to his status as one of the primordial demons from antiquity.

This is why in the Slime universe, Diablo is commonly referred to as Arch Demon “Primordial Black.” And with his executive role in the Jura Tempest Federation as Rimuru’s second secretary, Diablo will be able to fulfill all of his nefarious inclinations!

The Black Numbers’ creator?

Diablo formed the paramilitary unit known as The Black Numbers to aid Rimuru in times of conflict. His ultimate aspiration is to spend as much time as possible in Rimuru’s physical presence. But despite being Rimuru’s butler and second secretary, he accomplishes little except impart magical knowledge and pour tea.

Diablo’s “secretarial duties” become crucial, though, when sending troops into war. After all, being separated from Rimuru is something he strongly dislikes. Diablo himself doesn’t fight because he has recruited others to do his nasty work.

De facto, the Jura Tempest Federation is run by the Black Numbers. He’s made progress toward his aim by rounding up its 711 top devils.

Then, Diablo called forth three other Demon Primordials to fight with Rimuru (Chapter 11 of the light novel). Diablo stuck close to Rimuru and often brought him cookies and drink after sending everyone else into battle.

Even if Diablo takes advantage of the militia unit for his own ends in Volumes 11 and 12, “The Black Numbers” is still the most formidable fighting force of deadly soldiers.

Is Diablo really that committed?

Diablo has unwavering loyalty to his owner. Rimuru would either set himself on fire or kill himself if he asked Diablo to kill him.

In Volume 7 of the light novel, he leads a charge against his adversaries while raiding the government of the Farmus Kingdom (or Falmuth Kingdom). But the strike irritates him since it is not a total win.

The invasion, unfortunately, puts a huge distance between the master and butler. After all, Diablo’s only thought during the fight was to hurry back to Rimuru’s side.

Diablo was distressed and anxious by the separation. He worried that even a partial triumph would cost him the respect of Rimuru.

Keep in mind that not everything went smoothly during the invasion. Diablo reasoned, “Since I fell short of master Rimuru’s standards, I shouldn’t serve him any longer. Eventually, someone else will take my position, and I’ll be free of him”.

The Anti-Magic Mask: What is it?

Diablo’s early allegiance to Rimuru was based on his desire for an Anti-Magic Mask, also known as a Magic Suppression Mask. Shizue Izawa had ownership before to her passing, but she left it to Rimuru in her will. Diablo had been following whatever was hiding behind the mask. So, he started with Shizue Izawa and moved on to Rimuru.

Diablo was awestruck by Shizue’s formidable presence when she severed his right arm in the Filtwood Kingdom fight. Diablo now perceives that same ominous radiance expanding ferociously within Rimuru.

Diablo is convinced that whoever wears the strange black-and-white mask carved with spirals is the person who would unveil the “Truth of the World” to him.

Once Diablo realized that a slime like him now wore and owned the mask, he became Rimuru’s most devoted follower. His dedication to serve him to the end is unfathomable:

  • he speaks highly of Rimuru’s moral character;
  • recruited The Black Numbers to serve as bodyguards and fight off numerous adversaries;
  • launched three formidable Primordial Demons into battle;
  • joined Rimuru’s staff as a butler and second secretary.

Diablo stays by his master’s side through thick and thin, taking on strange missions like these to earn Rimuru’s favor. Wow, talk about being obsessive!

Diablo knew that whoever was hiding behind the mask was a devastating force. Diablo’s bondage and eternal obedience to his master stem from his desire to watch the youthful lord (or chancellor) harness this immense aura.
