In January, Pokemon Company International announced that the franchise would collaborate with contemporary artist Daniel Arsham. The collaboration would prompt a series of five art exhibitions in February.

The Pokemon and Daniel Arsham collaboration has led to the release of a new short anime that is currently being streamed on YouTube. It’s a six-minute video that shows Ash and Pikachu getting transported to a mysterious world.

Ash and Pikachu can be seen in a tournament when suddenly a bright light from Celebi transports them to an unknown place.

The place where they arrive seems to mirror the real world but has giant Pokemon statues.

These are artworks by Arsham, and the theme is “Pokemon excavated 1000 years later.” It is possible that Ash and Pikachu time-traveled to 1000 years in the future.

The duo starts following Celebi and reaches a place that is the only link to their actual world but is confronted by Dialga.

The full-length animation “A Ripple in Time” by Pokémon x Daniel Arsham, a collaboration between contemporary artist Daniel Arsham and director Kunihiko Yuyama, who has been involved in the TV anime “Pokemon” series, has been released!

What Satoshi and his friends chasing Celebi see …!?

Within just six minutes, the video can entrance its audience with its gorgeous backgrounds. In the end, a “to be continued…” message can be seen. Will a new series sprout from this very video?

Kunihiko Yuyama, the director of several Pokemon series, directed the short and collaborated with Arsham.

Celebi was accompanied by the Legendary Pokemon Dialga in the video. Only these two Pokemons are known to have time-traveling traits. If this video is a teaser for a huge upcoming saga, count me in for the blast.
