Duffer Brothers to Adapt ‘Death Note’ into a Netflix Live-Action Series

Stranger Things is everywhere nowadays. Volume 4’s groundbreaking final episodes have successfully taken over social media and are reigning on top right now.

Now would be the best time for Duffer Brothers to announce new projects and milk out as much as possible from the hype.

Inspired by the show, they formed the Upside Down Pictures production company and revealed some exciting new projects no one was prepared for.

Duffer Brothers, the creators of Stranger Things, are now working on a live-action series adaptation of the Death Note manga. The brothers will produce it for Netflix at their new label Upside Down Productions.

Other projects from the company also feature a Stranger Things spin-off series and stage play. The plot and further details regarding the spin-off aren’t out yet, leaving fans anxious and free to cook up theories around it.

Coming to Death Note, everyone falls short of words while trying to praise Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s masterpiece. This is one of those series that can never come under the overrated category, and no amount of adaptations is enough for its fans.

The franchise’s 2015 TV drama was a massive success considering how live-action adaptations are not well received by otakus. However, this one changed their views forever as all Death Note fans loved how well it was made.
