It has been almost three years since the last episode of Fairy Tail, and even today, we miss the hallmarks of a typical ‘hero’s quest.

However, 2021 is the perfect time to somewhat fill that void with Hiro Mashima’s other work that follows the intergalactic adventure of Shiki Granbell, the Demon King of spaceship Edens Zero.

Based on Hiro Mashima’s original manga, Edens Zero anime has already premiered in Japan on April 11, 2021, and is listed for 25 episodes.

There’s nothing to worry about for the international fans; Eden Zero’s official Twitter account revealed that Netflix would be streaming the series worldwide in Fall 2021.

Apart from that, Mashima has shared an illustration to commemorate the official premiere. It features Shiki, Rebecca, and her cat Happy; you can observe their uncanny similarity with Natsu, Lucy, and the other Happy (Fairy Tail).

TV anime “EDENS ZERO” finally starts tonight!

Not only that, Edens Zero will soon be getting a 3D RPG game as well. Konami is planning to develop the game, and it will soon be released on consoles and mobile devices as well. Thanks to Fairy Tail’s reputation, the new franchise has a considerable viewer base already.

If Fairy Tail was all about magic, guilds, and supernatural creatures, Edens Zero is a similar adventure that revolves around technology, aliens, and space travel instead.

Despite the differences, things like an intense storyline, catchy music, and a heart-warming theme of friendship will remain the same. It’s still too early to say anything, but I am confident that this new show will be the perfect follow-up of Fairy Tail and will probably meet all our expectations.

About Edens Zero

Edens Zero is a Japanese science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine, into fourteen tankōbon volumes as of March 2021.

At the Granbell Kingdom, Shiki has lived his entire life among machines, in an abandoned amusement park. But one day, Rebecca and her cat companion Happy appear at the park’s front gates.

Little do they know that this is the first human contact Granbell has had in a hundred years! As Shiki stumbles his way into making new friends, his former neighbors stir at an opportunity for a robot-rebellion.

When his old homeland becomes too dangerous, Shiki must join Rebecca and Happy on their spaceship and escape into the boundless cosmos.
