Expendables Franchise Could Continue, but Under One Condition!
The producers of The Expendables 4 have revealed the ONE CONDITION essential for the franchise to continue to Expendables 5 and beyond.
The new sequel, directed by Scott Waugh, brings back Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham for a barrage of action and adventures.
Although Stallone will say goodbye to his role as Barney Ross in this movie, Statham’s Lee Christmas seems to be ready to take over as the new leader of the franchise.
Coming back to the ‘one condition,’ producers Kevin King-Templeton and Les Weldon told the Daily Express that they’d keep making movies beyond Expendables 4 “as long as there’s an appetite for it.”. Check King-Tempketon’s comments below:
Nothing is off the table. We don’t know. It’s all about the fans.
The Expendables movies have never impressed the critics much, but the first two were big hits with the fans. The movies featured a star-studded cast of legendary action heroes from the past four decades and were packed with gory action scenes that propelled the films toward box-office success.
The Expendables 3 boasted the most star-studded cast of the series, but it also turned out to be the biggest letdown.
The movie toned down the violence to get a PG-13 rating, which took away one of the main attractions of the franchise. It flopped big-time at the box office, and the negative feedback probably delayed the development of a fourth installment.
We thought it’d be the end of the franchise, but the fourth installment is on the horizon, and hopefully, it’ll help resurrect the franchise.
Expendables 4’s box-office performance is still a mystery, but the star-studded cast makes us look forward to more sequels.
The new installment brings back familiar faces like Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture and also welcomes newcomers like 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, and Andy Garcia, among others.
It remains to be seen how these characters will gel, but the franchise has created an impressive roster for Expendables series.
