Jujutsu Kaisens’s 1st ED Singers: ALI’s Drummer Arrested for 2nd Fraud Case

We’ve all seen people from the anime and manga industry getting arrested. Be it a mangaka, animator, staff, or the people who provide the incredible OSTs.

ALI is one of the most well-known music bands out there for creating anime opening and ending themes. They are especially famous for Jujutsu Kaisen’s first ending theme, ‘Lost In Paradise’.

Unfortunately, the arrest of their drummer, Kahadio (real name Kadio Shirai) diminished their fame yet again.

ALI Band’s drummer, Kadio Shirai, was again arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department for involvement in an ATM fraud.

The man who was arrested for being involved in a particular fraud case in the band’s drummer who was in charge of the ending theme of the popular anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” was re-arrested for being involved in another fraud case.

The police said that Kadio and his friends made a phone call to an elderly lady living in the Osaka prefecture. They made the call on March 3rd, 2021, promising the lady a refund for medical expenses.

Shirai and his friends made the lady transfer about 2.31 million yen (US $21,000). The police witnessed Shirai withdrawing about 420,000 yen the next day at a convenience store ATM. 

This is not the first time that the drummer has been arrested by the police. Previously the member was arrested under the charges of participation in an ATM-related scam, which cost the band an essential client.

The World Ends With You manga withdrew the contract of their opening theme ‘Teenage City Riot’ produced by ALI due to the scandal of their drummer getting arrested.

The band has also performed OSTs for other famous anime like BEASTARS and Noblesse and has made us all groove to their beat.

Is there any hope for getting more hits from ALI? Will they be producing more music for anime? Will they get a new drummer?

We don’t know about all of that right now, but we do hope that the band gets the chance to repair their tarnished image in front of the public.
