MAPPA Announces “Bucchigiri?!” Anime Streaming Service

New from MAPPA, Bucchigiri is also a delinquent animation in the vein of Tokyo Revengers. In contrast to Tokyo Revengers, the story’s tone is inspired by tales from the Middle East.

This shady show takes some cues from Jojo. Everyone is getting psyched for its release because the art style is quite reminiscent of Jojo. The announcement that the anime will be available on MAPPA only added to the anticipation.

Crunchyroll will be streaming the upcoming anime “Bucchigiri?!” as announced by MAPPA. The news was shared during MAPPA’s Anime Expo panel. The anime, under Hiroko Utsumi’s direction, will premiere in Japan in the first month of 2024.

Araji Tomobishi is a typical, shy high school student in Bucchigiri. He and his childhood friend Mataka Asamine are reunited. Mataka is the ringleader of a criminal organization.

Mataka asks Araji to join his gang so that they can take on rival gangs together. Araji quickly learns that he is in the midst of a perilous bet against an unknown adversary.

The fact that Bucchigiri is an original anime concept could be its saving grace or undoing. Without the limitations of the original work, the anime would have a lot more room to experiment. However, the anime risks being diffuse without solid source material.

Thankfully, the anime has a fantastic director and production team, so we can anticipate an exciting Yanki fantasy!
