Toei Animation is producing the film, and Takehiko Inou himself is directing and writing the script. All the staff members behind the movie have already been announced.

The upcoming movie might feature the legendary Shohoku vs. Kainan match.

Slam Dunk has already received a 101-episode anime and four short animated films, but the manga was never completely adapted.

The Shohoku team is now perfect with the super rookie, Rukawa Kaede, the gorilla captain, Akagi, the fastest player, Miyagi, and the king of 3-pointers, Mitsui. Add to that Sakuragi, the ‘Boss Monkey,’ and you’ve got a team that can conquer anything.
