‘The Detective is Already Dead’ Returns with Season 2

The Detective is Already Dead’s first season proved that the show is more than busting some underground criminals. In just a few episodes, the series gave us supernatural, magic, and mysteries wrapped with loads of action.

Although Siesta was gone, her actions haunted Kimizuka a year after her demise. It was as if Siesta was never gone because her presence still lingered in the form of consequences that caught up to her partner soon.

Season 1 of The Detective is Already Dead had us on the edge of our seats, and now it’s back with season 2 to blow our minds.

Kadokawa has revealed a teaser featuring the main cast and their monologues. It starts with Siesta narrating the story of when she and Kimizuka met and ends with the detective saying that she likes happy endings.

Siesta’s statement suggests that the coming season might conclude her story with a happy ending. It can also mean that the anime will wind up with a grand finale.

Since the manga is already over, the second possibility does seem pretty reasonable. Moreover, season 1’s ending also revealed that Siesta might be alive somehow, so I’m really curious about what that is.

The franchise has also revealed a teaser visual featuring Siesta, Kimizuka, Nagisa, Yui, and Charlotte.

Written by Nigojū and Umibōzu, The Detective Is Already Dead (Tantei wa Mō, Shindeiru) is a light novel series that follows Kimihiko Kimizuka, a third-year high school student and former assistant of a detective named Siesta.
