Top 10 All-Time Isekai: Must-See Anime You Haven’t Seen Yet

Have you ever wished you could take a trip to another world and have fantastic adventures with mighty heroes? If so, you’ve likely discovered the wonderful world of Isekai anime.

The popularity of Isekai anime has been on the rise recently, but not all of them are good. It’s not always easy to pick the good solutions out of the numerous that exist.

Here, I’ll list the best ten isekai anime for those who want to dive deeply into a world of adventure, action, and sheer fun.

The realm of Isekai is teeming with fascinating individuals and stories, from teleported high students to reborn knights.

10. The Rising of the Shield Hero.

The show doesn’t build a fantastical setting that would make otakus swoon. It depicts a world that is uncannily similar to our own. It’s not all roses and unicorns; corruption and unfairness are real problems.

In The Rising of the Shield Hero, otaku Naofumi Iwatani is mocked for becoming the “Shield Hero” despite his obvious ineptitude. Naofumi, who has been betrayed and wrongly accused, takes steps to restore his good name and reputation.

Almost everyone enjoys a good underdog tale. Naofumi keeps falling down, but he gets up every time. Despite his rough look, he actually has a good heart. Even if his group doesn’t value him, he will always look out for their best interests.

9. InuYasha.

Inuyasha is a classic that never gets old. It has everything you might want in a long-running series: action, the supernatural, romance, and historical context.

In InuYasha, the protagonist, Kagome, is a 15-year-old who finds herself in feudal Japan. To put the fragments of the Shikon Jewel back together, they enlist the aid of Inuyasha, a half-demon youngster.

Each of Inuyasha’s characters has their own personality and quirks. While the story itself is interesting, the constant battles, unsuccessful efforts, and slow pace at which clues are revealed might become tedious after a while.

The love story is the story’s true centerpiece. Although not overtly romantic, it is pleasant and endearing. However, it is disappointing that the romance develops so little.

8. Log Horizon.

It may seem slow at first, but don’t be fooled. The show’s main character is a skilled strategist who uses his wits and cunning to outwit and outmaneuver any adversary he faces.

In Log Horizon, a group of players are stranded in Elder Tale after an update breaks their connection to the real world. Shiroe, a veteran player, takes on the responsibility of bringing peace to the virtual city of Akihabara by leading and negotiating with NPCs.

It combines elements of fantasy with the actual world to make for an engaging setting. In addition, there is a wide variety of personalities to root for.

Warning to anyone who watches Log Horizon only because they despise SAO. Of course Log Horizon is different from SAO and has superior pacing, but it doesn’t make it a flawless masterpiece.

Even with its remaining problems, the show is entertaining and well worth your time.

7. The Saga of Tanya the Evil.

Tanya, the protagonist, is evil in a way that isn’t seen in most stories about villains. Her primary motivations are success and self-preservation, and she doesn’t care who she hurts in the process. Sometimes she acts maliciously for no apparent reason, and it’s fun to see.

In The Saga of Tanya the Evil, Tanya, a cruel soldier also known as the “Devil of the Rhine,” Having been reborn as a young girl in a planet where magic is used in combat, she works her way up through the ranks of the armed forces of her country in order to achieve her ultimate goal: the destruction of Being X.

Tanya’s personality is the show’s strongest point. Whether she’s in a battle situation or talking to her superiors, she always acts like a boss. Rare is the anime that excels equally in both speech and action.

This show is not without flaws. It’s up to the individual viewer to judge if Tanya is a positive addition to the show or not.

6. Overlord.

You’ve heard this notion before: you’re trapped in a video game. However, the show goes above and beyond by making the antagonist the protagonist. And it comes through like a champ.

The world-building is excellent, with a focus on discovering the various systems in play. The balance between the action and the comedy is excellent.

When the servers for Momonga’s favorite game suddenly go down, he becomes trapped in the game’s virtual world. He embarks on a quest to learn more about the mysterious new world and its inhabitants using his formidable wizard skills and the assistance of his faithful minions.

From a skeleton guy with a massive labyrinth to a man who claims entire kingdoms as his own, the plot kept me engaged throughout the year.

5. . No Game No Life

NGNL’s setting is both endearing and rich, with compelling politics and individuals who drive the plot forward. That aesthetic is very gorgeous. It’s easily distinguishable from other anime thanks to the vivid colors and bold red outlining.

No Contest Disboard is the fictional realm where the events of No Life take place. With Tet’s help, Sora and Shiro travel to Disboard, where they join forces with Stephanie Dola to restore Elkia to its former glory.

What an incredible friendship Sora and Shiro share! They’ve got each other’s backs and don’t leave each other’s sides.

What I like best about NGNL is that it is both a fantasy adventure game and a deconstruction of common gaming cliches. Cultures, norms, and cliches are all mercilessly mocked.

I think any fan of anime would enjoy NGNL, however you should know that it ends far too quickly for the amount of story it established. And it looks like there won’t be a Season 2 anytime soon.

4. . That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

This program incorporates standard fantasy elements with fresh interpretations on them. The protagonist is a slime who is also a really cool guy. He’s adorable, pleasant, and a decent person in general.

Satoru Mikami, 37, finds new talents and a buddy in a sealed monster after being reincarnated as a slime following a fatal stabbing in Tokyo. He changes his name to Rimuru Tempest and sets out on an adventure with the intention of changing his destiny.

How society changes and what it’s like to start again in a new environment are major themes. In addition, Rimuru’s positive and astute attitude on life contributes to the show’s overall entertaining nature.

So, check out Slime if you’re in the mood for something humorous, soothing, and imaginative.

3. . Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

In Mushoku Tensei, the protagonist isn’t thrust into action right away. Instead, setting up the background and the people is a laborious process.

It’s fascinating to witness how Rudeus grows up and learns about magic after following him from infancy.

In Mushoku Tensei, a 34-year-old loner’s valiant attempt ends in disaster, and he finds himself transferred to another planet. After his rebirth as Rudeus Greyrat, he swiftly adjusted to his new surroundings and began demonstrating signs of magical ability.

Some uncomfortable topics, like as sexual assault and slavery, are handled poorly in the show. Also, some people may find the sexually suggestive humor offensive.

If you can get past that, though, you’ll be rewarded with an exciting and engaging journey that won’t let you down for a second.

2. KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World.

Looking for an anime that will cheer you up and make you laugh? Look no further than KonoSuba. The creators of this anime clearly weren’t trying to take themselves too seriously.

In KonoSuba, we follow the exploits of Kazuma Satou, a high school student who meets a tragic end and is subsequently resurrected in a fantastical realm by the utterly ineffectual goddess Aqua.

This cast is hilarious, from the slick but inept MC, Kazuma, to the oblivious goddess, Aqua, and the genuinely powerful chuunibyou, Megumin.

Lastly, there’s Darkness, the sick masochist who is just… well, you’ll have to see for yourself! The extremeness with which they play with tropes is a key component of the show’s hilarity.

1. Re:ZERO Starting Life in Another World.

The success of Re:ZERO can be attributed to its combination of a magical backdrop with dark psychological undertones. It’s fascinating and heartbreaking to witness the protagonist’s descent into madness and despair as he keeps dying again and over again.

After leaving a 7-Eleven in Re:ZERO, Subaru finds himself in a fantastical realm. Despite his lack of superpowers, he is rescued by the lovely half-elf Emilia, and the two embark on a trip together.

I really like that Emilia is more than just Subaru’s waifu object of want; she’s lovely and sweet. She has a sturdy personality and can handle herself well.

Finally, there’s Rem; she pleasantly surprised me. She’s a more developed figure than the protagonist.

Give Re: ZERO a shot if you’re sick of reading the same old isekai. You won’t come to regret it.
