Who Is Mori Jin’s Love Interest in the “God of Highschool?”

Mori does not have a love interest as he’s the type of guy who would friendzone every girl he meets.

Season 1 of the anime ‘The God of High School’ has just ended; however, fans know that this is just the beginning as many unpredictable plot twists, character arcs, and battle scenes await our main trio.

However, with the webtoon coming to an end too, a new question arises.

Who will Mori end up with? In its 400+ chapters, there are few women who can be said to be potential love interests for him. Who will he get together with? Choose your fighter.

1. Who Is Mori Jin’s Love Interest?

Mori is portrayed as a playful, honest, and lighthearted character that is only interested in fighting and getting stronger.

This means that when talking about his love interests, the possibilities range from either zero to too many to count.

Mori acts playful and cares for everyone, but at the same time, shares a close bond with few.

If we take the anime into account, he shares a close relationship with only Mira, whereas talking about the webtoon as a whole, there are two other characters that are considered when talking about his love interests.

I. Does Mori Love Mira?

Mori and Mira ran into each other when catching a thief, and from this accidental meet bloomed a beautiful friendship (yes, they’ve already friend-zoned each other, discussion over).

Along with Daewi, they were part of the Seoul team and fought many battles together.

He was the one who managed to convince Mira to not marry a man she did not love and saved her a lifetime of regret.

The few times we saw Mori angry was because of Mira getting injured, and he made sure to repay any harm done to her to the enemies.

Similarly, Mira saved Mori multiple times throughout the series, always pulling him out of harm’s way when things got tough.

She wanted to grow stronger to both protect and stand alongside him and was even ready to risk her life for him.

Mori does not love Mira, as in the end, their relationship only extends as far as really close friends, or perhaps even something akin to siblings. In fact, in the webtoon, Mira already shares a romantic relationship with Daewi.

II. Does Mori Love Sujin Lee?

Lee Sujin was Nox’s Bishop and a former antagonist who turned into a supporting character as the series progressed.

It was her grandfather who was captured by the South Korean government, and the one who taught Northern ITF Taekwondo to Jin Taejin, and lost to his Re: Taekwondo later.

Due to her grandfather’s crimes, her family had to work in a mine, which resulted in her mother’s death.

Bearing a grudge against Jin Taejin, and Mori in extension, she looked for an opportunity to defeat the latter and prove the superiority of Northern ITFTaekwondo.

After the events in Oraegayuk, she and Mori grew more understanding of each other and put an end to their enmity. However, that was all.

Mori does not love Sujin Lee as they can barely be called close friends, let alone lovers. The chances of them getting together are close to none.

III. Does Mori Love Tang Sanzang?

After being tasked to accompany and protect Xuanzang and the other pilgrims during their journey to becoming Buddhas, he developed a close bond with them, especially with the former.

Mori does not love Tang Sanzang, but it was instead Sun Wukong who fell for her sometime during their journey. He only realized this when the latter confessed first.

Despite their relationship ending tragically, Xuangzang will always remain Sun Wukong’s first true love.

2. Will Mori End Up with Anyone?

Mori will not end up with anyone by the end of the series. With God of Highschool webtoon nearing its end, no specific love interest has been introduced for him other than Xuanzang, who has already met her end.

It is unlikely that the author will introduce someone else this late just to pair her up with Mori.

However, this outcome is not at all unpleasant as most fans believe this to be the path best suited for Mori.

The only way he’d end up with anyone is if that person turns out to be Xuanzang’s incarnation, or perhaps even Peach if “let’s be friends” translates to “I love you” for him.
