The Expelled from Paradise team will release a new movie in the spring of 2019.

According to a video posted on the Toe Animation YouTube channel, the team behind the sci-fi anime film Expelled From Paradise is currently working on a new anime film project that is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2023.

A short-haired girl holding a gun while sporting a futuristic-looking leotard and boots was featured in the video’s teaser image, which also served as a preview of the upcoming project’s official announcement.

On the team working on this new project, which is being made by Toei Animation, are anime director Seiji Mizushima, writer Gen Urobuchi, and character designer Masatsugu Saito. The original concept for Expelled from Paradise was created by Nitroplus, who also received credit for the new project along with Toei Animation.

The background materials for the new project are being worked on by Renji Oki, a Nitroplus author who wrote an Expelled from Paradise side-story novel, according to Urobuchi.

Expelled from Paradise producer and CG director Kouichi Noguchi is working on the new project. The staff has not yet revealed the plot, but based on the visuals, it appears to be a science fiction film with a futuristic setting.

The upcoming anime project was first alluded to by director Seiji Mizushima in July 2021 when he posted a picture of Saito as a character.
