The series got its first anime in 2017 by Studio 3Hz, and all was calm until the studio dropped a bomb of an announcement about a six-part anime film project! The film’s first part was released back in February 2021; however, before the fans could even breathe, the studio surprised us all with an even bigger announcement.
Through Princess Principal’s official website, Studio 3Hz announced that the film’s second part would have a theatrical release on September 23rd, 2021. Additionally, a full-length trailer, key visual, and character designs were also simultaneously released.

The poster gives us an interesting first glimpse at three new characters; from the top, we have red-haired Prince Richard. His triumphant return after five years of exploring the new world sets him as a significant character in the film.
Below him is Prince Edward, the first in line to the throne, and at the center of the visual is Princess Mary, known for her responsible personality and aims to fulfill her royal duties.
At the bottom, we have Angers, one of the spies with her top hat, standing beside the Princess of Albion. The characters are set against the backdrop of a throne room, hinting at the plot and intrigue set to come.

About Princess Principal
Princess Principal is a Japanese anime television series produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas.
The series was directed by Masaki Tachibana and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by Kouhaku Kuroboshi and Yukie Akiya, and music by Yuki Kajiura. The series aired from July to September 2017.
A six parted film series has been planned by Actas with Film 1 being released in February 11, 2021. Film 2 is slated for a Fall 2021 release.
Set in the 19th century, the film revolves around Ange, Dorothy & Chise. Princess Principal Crown Handler Part 1 takes place after the events of the canon story released in 2017.
The Empire takes drastic measures against spies and finds the commonwealth group in charge of spy missions against the Empire — Control to be in disarray, suspecting its members to be double agents.
