The Complete Watch Order Guide to Excel Saga

Over-energetic, extremely fast-paced, and totally absurd! Excel Saga is a comedy like no other!

Excel Saga is an anime that follows a simple pattern where two characters are given a mission, and they mess it up no matter how simple it is.

The consequences are disastrous and that somewhere along these lines, we experience the comedic parts of the show.

3. Quick Review

I. Story and Characters

Excel Saga has a fairly simple story while having no specific story at all. Each episode makes fun of a certain genre and its common situations while staying relevant.

The real storyline starts to become clear towards the end of the show when all the plot points start coming together.

Excel Saga is not perfect, but it’s not trying to be perfect either. If you’re looking for a mindless magical comedy, you will definitely enjoy its plot.

The two main characters, Excel and Hyatt, are cute, loveable, and a teensy bit annoying. Excel’s energy comes across as too high at some points, but you’ll get used to it.

II. Animation and Sound

The animation is pretty standard 2000’s animation. It’s not extremely good looking but isn’t bad either.

The soundtrack is pretty fun, especially the ending theme. Although the OSTs are forgettable, the soundtrack really shines during the opening and closing.

4. About Excel Saga

Excel Saga is produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Shinichi Watanabe. Twenty-five episodes were broadcasted on TV Tokyo between October 7, 1999, and March 30, 2000

The head of ACROSS organization Il Palazzo has a dream. His dream is to take over the whole world.

Realizing that world domination would be a difficult and long process, he plans to start by first conquering the city of Fukuoka.

He appoints two officers, Excel and Hyatt, to execute his plans while dodging the defenses of the city- security robots, a group of totally normal men, and a very crazy girl.

Follow Excel and Hyatt as they mess up the simplest of tasks that cause widespread damage to both the city as well as Il Palazzo.
