Viz Media to Stream  ‘Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War’ in North America

Considered one of the Big 4 anime, Bleach’s adaptation of its final arc has become the most awaited release of the year. The only thing that’s left is an official date for us to begin the countdown.

Tite Kubo’s story has had many thrilling arcs, but the Thousand-Year Blood War can make them all look lame. That’s just how stellar the final adventure in this epic saga is.

Until now, the franchise has only been teasing us with an October premiere without a date, but the wait is finally over, at least for fans in the U.S.

New York Comic Con’s official Twitter handle has revealed that Viz Media will be hosting the North American debut of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. The premiere will take place on October 8, 2022, ahead of the anime’s simulcast.

I guess Christmas has come early for fans in North America and everyone who will be attending the NYCC. Not just this, but the franchise will also have an advance screening of the first two episodes in Tokyo on September 11, 2022.

Why is this arc so hyped, though? Because it’s the final arc and also one of the most beloved and finest shonen arcs out there. It comes on the same level as Naruto’s Fourth Shinobi War arc or Dragon Ball Z’s Cell Games arc.

Although the franchise has some great storylines, none of them can come close to the Quincy Blood War. It’s not just about the story ending, but more about how well-written the finale is because most writers tend to mess these things up.

Anime conclusions are of great importance, and there are not many endings that do justice to the story’s epic build-up. This is the sole reason why Bleach’s end is so hyped and anticipated.

Now that we have dates for advance screenings, I hope the next update we get is of the official simulcast date.

About Bleach

Bleach is a Japanese anime television series based on Tite Kubo’s manga of the same name. The anime series adapts Kubo’s manga but also introduces some new, original, self-contained story arcs.

It is based in Karakura Town on a 15-year-old high school student Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper when Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper, puts Soul Reaper powers in Ichigo. They barely manage to kill the hollow.

Although initially reluctant to accept the heavy responsibility, he begins eliminating some more hollows and also discovers that several of his friends and classmates are spiritually aware and have powers of their own.
